Two people were taken to the hospital after a rear-end collision Wednesday afternoon in Smithton.
Smithton Fire Chief Mike Schutzenhofer said an older man and an older woman were taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for minor injuries.
The vehicle they were in was southbound on Illinois 159 when it struck a stopped vehicle at the intersection of Memorial Drive.
Emergency personnel responded at 3:50 p.m.
