Belleville blotter: Moms blame sons for missing vehicles

The following reports appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

Wednesday

9:30 p.m. MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT - 200 block of N. 14th St. The victim reported discovering her 2004 grey in color Dodge Ram missing from its parking space on the roadway in front of her residence. The incident occurred between 10 a.m.-8:45 p.m. There was no sign of forced entry and the victim believes her son may have taken the vehicle.

10:17 p.m. MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT - 1700 block of Stevens St. The victim reported discovering her 2009 silver in color Toyota Corolla missing from her driveway. There was no sign of forced entry and the victim believes her son may have taken the vehicle. A short time later, East St. Louis Police Dept. discovered the vehicle wrecked and abandoned in the 200 block of Collinsville St.
