There was much to be said about the past election. One of the most important things was that there were more voters claiming they were independents than either the Republican or the Democratic Party.
The people are tired of the gridlock in Washington because the Republicans will not cooperate with the Democrats on even the least important bills, even when they are for the good of the country.
I propose that a third party be formed called the American Independent Party. More than a third of the voters might join such a party if the current members in Congress who are elected as independents would form a new party. I am an independent and I would join if asked.
The present atmosphere in Washington is not working. Just maybe new ideas and new blood would be the answer to getting things done that will bring our country back to its greatness.
I pray that the present members in Congress start working together, because with their current lack of cooperation they are putting our country on a downward skid. God help us if they don't.
