The NRA has turned me into a Democrat. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is "on target" with his blunt NRA comments about its complicity in the murder of 20 beautiful children and its self-centered elevation of a deviant agenda above the welfare of our nation.
It's no longer just the ignorant with guns. Even supposedly intelligent people have fallen victim to this paranoia. I recently saw a post: "I want what the other guy has." With that argument and the real possibility that terrorists will eventually have nuclear weapons, the next NRA slogan will be "nuclear weapons don't kill people; people do."
In the days ahead, the NRA will try to distract the argument away from gun control to some other inane issue. Consider this: It just takes one life "crisis" to put anyone over the edge. Add a gun and the outcome will be tragic.
A suggestion: Put anyone who owns an automatic weapon on a domestic terrorism watch list. They are dangerous to our families and to our nation. They have no business with security clearances and should be denied access to military bases and defense contractor facilities. Let the FBI keep a closer watch on them.
Another suggestion: Take the fish symbols off your vehicles. Stay home on Sundays. You won't find the phrase "my rights" in Scripture. It was invented by Satan, something foreign to Christianity.
If you value your gun rights more than the well-being of others, at least be consistent with your true god -- your guns.
