Former closer Ugueth Urbina is a "free agent"

Clubs that are looking for a veteran reliever suddenly have another option on the market.

Former major league closer Ugueth Urbina has recently become a free agent of sorts. According to reports, he is freshly free from prison after serving five years in his native Venezuela where he's been in the pokey for five years after an attempted murder conviction.

Five farmhands on the Urbina family ranch claimed the former hurler tried to set them on fire and threatened them with a machete. The defense argued that Urbina was sleeping at the time of the incident.

Now 38 years old, it is unclear if Urbina plans to return to the major leagues. But reports indicate that he was throwing in excess of 90 miles an hour for his prison baseball team.
