First Night River Bend will return Monday night for its 18th year of family-oriented, no alcohol New Year's fun on the campus of Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey.
More than 25 artists, musicians, dancers, singalongs, clowns, storytellers and other acts will perform or lead hands-on activities.
A popular highlight again this year is The Whip Guy Chris Camp. Camp is a Springfield man who dresses like Indiana Jones and performs amazing stunts with his long, leather bullwhip.
Two fireworks shows are at 9 p.m. and midnight.
Guests can roam freely with admission buttons that cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
