On the brink of tough times

Published: December 28, 2012

I am beginning to think that House Majority Leader John Boehner believes the entire country is Republican. He is standing solid in his belief that it's the Republican way or no way.

I don't know about anyone else, but if this fiscal cliff happens, I will not be able to pay more than $8 for a gallon of milk (among other increases). I am aware that people on Social Security will get a raise in January, but it only amounts to an average of $22 per month. After paying bills (mortgage, utilities, medical co-pays, prescriptions, etc.) it will give Social Security recipients an average leftover amount of about $1.83. Wow, really?

In the words of Jack Buck: "Go crazy, folks, go crazy."
