A 24-year-old Belleville man was charged Monday with aggravated domestic battery, a class 2 felony, by St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office after allegedly stabbing a family member in the head with a butcher knife.
Kelsea D. Lampkins allegedly caused bodily harm to Christopher D. Lampkins, 24, by cutting him along the side of the head with a knife, according to the charging documents.
Belleville police responded to the battery just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Jay Avenue. According to police, Kelsea Lampkins and Christopher Lampkins are cousins.
Christopher Lampkins was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
Kelsea Lampkins is in custody at St. Clair County Jail. If convicted, he faces three to seven years in prison.
