Metro-east residents who are making their way back to work Wednesday after the New Year's Day holiday should make sure to bundle up.

The temperature will top out at 31 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. But it was only 15 degrees before sunrise.

Skies are predicted to be mostly sunny throughout the daytime hours with increasing clouds and a low of 20 degrees overnight. A high of 34 degrees is forecast for Wednesday.
