EAST ST. LOUIS — A cattle truck overturned Wednesday morning at the Third Street exit from westbound Interstate 64.
An Illinois State Police spokesman said the wreck had been moved off the roadway and traffic about 4:30 p.m. was normal rush hour traffic.
Illinois State Police Trooper Mike Link said the crash was at 9:07 a.m. The truck was hauling 95 head of cattle, and some were killed in the crash. Workers had to cut away metal grating to free some of the cattle, which were transferred to another truck and taken away.
The driver was injured, but was not taken to the hospital, Link said. The cause of the crash had not been determined, he said.
