BELLEVILLE POLICE
MONDAY, DEC. 31
8:49 a.m. Theft -- Franke Brake Service, 1120 W. Main St. The business owner reported sometime within the last two weeks unknown person(s) stole scrap metal that was stored in the rear of the business.
1:50 p.m. Illegal dumping (yard waste) -- 500 block of Catawba. The reporting party stated she observed a large red truck, depositing a large amount of tree limbs near the railroad overpass.
6:09 p.m. Burglary to vehicle -- 300 block of South Missouri. The victim reported between 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke out his driver side window and took items from his vehicle.
7:48 p.m. Arson -- 300 block of West H Street. The reporting party noticed the front screen to a neighboring apartment was on fire. He extinguished the fire and called police.
8:56 p.m. Disorderly conduct, threats -- Walgreens, 515 Carlyle Ave. The pharmacy manager reported the suspect called and made threats.
11 p.m. Domestic battery -- 3900 block of West Main Street. The victim reported her ex-boyfriend/suspect knocked on the door. When she opened the door, he came into the residence and pulled her hair. The suspect was arrested, transported and held pending further investigation.
TUESDAY, JAN. 1
12:11 a.m. Residential burglary -- First block of Madonna Court. The victim reported on New Year's Eve someone broke out a window of a basement door and entered the residence. The victim located property in his truck that was parked in the garage.
1:09 a.m. Domestic battery -- First block of South 76th Street. The victim reported her boyfriend/suspect battered her. The suspect was arrested, transported and held pending further investigation.
2:29 a.m. Driving under the influence -- Illinois Route 15 at Centerville Avenue. Grant G. Watkins, 61, was arrested after he was discovered asleep and intoxicated at the wheel. Watkins was transported and held pending bond.
3:36 a.m. Residential burglary -- 400 block of Rosewood Court. The victim reported between 7:45 p.m. and 3:36 a.m., unknown suspect(s) gained entry through a rear bathroom window and property was stolen.
10:21 a.m. Residential burglary -- 1100 block of North 17th Street. The victim reported unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the residence and property was stolen.
10:45 p.m. Retail theft -- Wal-Mart, 2608 Green Mount Commons. A loss prevention officer observed Javan L. Emerson, 18, concealing merchandise and then leave the sstore without paying for the items. Emerson was arrested, transported and released after posting bond.
11:57 a.m. Burglary to shed -- 500 block of North Charles Street. The victim reported sometime overnight, unknown suspect(s) entered his shed and stole property.
7:32 p.m. Theft over -- 200 block of Voss Place. The victim reported that on two separate occasions her daughter allowed subjects into her residence without her knowledge. On both occasions after her daughter's friends left, items were discovered missing.
8:41 p.m. Traffic stop, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia -- 8500 block of West Main Street. Lucia Espinoza, 21, was arrested during a traffic stop after being found in possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Espinoza was transported and released after posting bond.
9:27 p.m. Traffic stop, possession of cannabis over 30 grams -- 9400 block of Lebanon Road. Officers attempted a traffic stop in the 9400 block of Lebanon. The vehicle attempted to elude officers and was stopped at West Boul at La Pleins Drive. The driver was found to be in possession of cannabis. The driver was arrested, transported and held pending further investigation.
11:39 p.m. battery, criminal damage to property -- First block of North 98th Street. Telisha T. Spencer, 33, was arrested after a disturbance. One victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. Spencer was transported and held pending bond.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 2
12:50 a.m. Traffic stop, possession of a controlled substance -- Sherman and East A Streets. Street Crimes Detectives conducted a traffic stop for a female driving while suspended. The driver was arrested for suspended and active St. Clair County warrant. During a search of the vehicle, a controlled substance was located. The driver and passenger were arrested, transported to headquarters and later transported to the St. Clair County Jail and held pending further investigation.
