I believe the time has come for reasonable gun control legislation. Assault weapons and ammunition should be banned. No civilian needs to have these types of weapons. They were made for warriors, not hunters. They were designed for mass destruction.

We also need to improve how we tend the mentally ill among us. They and their families are suffering and need our help. We have the ability, do we have the will? The love?

Democrats are stepping up. Republicans are side-stepping. I guess none of the Newtown victims were wealthy enough for them to care.

How ironic that the more guns there are, the less safe we feel.
