Wondering whats in the cards for you this New Year? Will your career, wealth, health, love, and family stay stagnant, or is change on the horizon?
Although no one really knows the answers as personal decisions and actions play a vital part, you may be able to get a little helpful insight or guidance through an angel card reading, tarot card reading, aura imaging, or a session with a fortuneteller, palm reader or psychic in the Metro East.
Jennifer Deschene, president of Holistic Journey on East Main St. in Belleville, says any of these spiritual can help a person discover future patterns.
Sometimes it just helps put things into perspective, she said. When you see it (with cards) or hear it (from a reader), you can start planning or manifesting ideas to make a change you have been considering or need. A reading is not permanent either. As you, your plans and actions change, so will your reading. Many people have readings and sessions done every six months or so to reorganize or reflect on their next steps.
It is believed by many that angel tarot cards contain messages from angels. Angel card readings can be more geared to particular issues a person may want deeper insight on, such as love, money, or career. Tarot card readings, which are also referred to as Intuitive readings, are broader, and not as specific as angel readings, Deschene said.
A person can easily learn to do readings themselves - on others or themselves. Holistic Journey sells the decks and offers four-hour-long Angel Card Readers Workshops, where much hands-on experience is gained.
Aura photograph sessions are designed to give individuals self-awareness. An aura is the electromagnetic energy field that surrounds, encompasses and permeates the body as well as all living things. The colors and patterns within this energy field constitute a blueprint (the results of the energy people radiate from their feelings, thoughts, and physical being). Until recently, it was believed auras could only be seen by the special few who had a gift to see the rainbow of colors, now there is a machine that is marketed to do just this.
Hand-shaped plates hooked to computers with special software and a camera are said to measure electromagnetic field, based on the Ayurvedic (acupressure points on the hand) system of meridians. The camera codes the energy readings into frequencies, which correspond to certain colors, and process the photograph. Then a computer sorts the information and prints the aura photograph.
Through the use of this remarkable technology, we gain a deeper insight into our emotional - mental states, heal and spiritual well-being, Deschene said. Seeing a picture of your own aura can often motivate you to make changes in your life that are needed to be happy - lower stress, relax more, change lifestyle for health reasons, etc.
She also suggests creating a Feng Shui vision board/treasure map for 2013 to prioritize all the ins and outs of your life, and make strong reminders of your top goals.
Feng Shui boards are a fantastic idea, Deschene said. I compare them to putting a skinny me picture on the refrigerator to deter yourself from eating the wrong foods, or a postcard of that tropical destination you are saving for taped to the door to remind you not to spend frivolously that day. If you lose track of your goals and ambitions, its an inspirational reminder you can see to put you back on track.
If you would like assistance in creating a personal Feng Shui vision board, or would like to learn more about Feng Shui, sign up for a class, which are scheduled in Belleville and St. Louis. Call 618-234-8280 or (314) ASK-SOUL. The cost is $27 in advance and $36 at the door.
