Lynx return to action Sunday
BELLEVILLE -- The Lindenwood University-Belleville men's basketball team will return to the court Sunday, following a three-week break for the holidays. The Lynx welcome Indiana Northwest to Lynx Arena for a 3 p.m. matchup on Sunday.
The Lynx (13-3) are on a four-game win streak, boasting the best season record in program history. LU-Belleville has not dropped a contest since December 1, as the Lynx fell to NAIA No. 10-ranked Columbia College at the William Woods Classic. Indiana Northwest enters Sunday's game at 4-13 on the season. Having not won a game since December 1, the Redhawks are looking to break a six-game losing skid.
During the first half of the season the Lynx set all-time records for what has proven to be the best season in men's basketball history. Todd Starks became the first player to reach the 1,000 point milestone and the Lynx' 134 points against Indiana Dabney set a challenging new record for points scored in a game. Steve Roper, Deon Miner, Matt Sturdivant and Starks are all averaging double-figures, while Starks has put up double-digits in all 16 games so far this season. LU - Belleville has ranked among the top-five in the USCAA Coaches Poll this season, remaining steady at No. 3 each week.
The Lynx are more than half way through the 2012-13 season and look to finish strong leading up to the USCAA National Championships, with only 14 regular-season games remaining.
