It is the year 2020. The federal government has passed legislation requiring all bicyclists to wear protective helmets. The purchase and use of pocket knives has been outlawed.

They have also banned the sale and use of cigarettes, bologna, Coke and salted peanuts because of the negative consequences on one's health.

Lawn mowers that burn fossil fuels are now illegal. (The government is very concerned about our environment as well as our health.)

So to answer letter writer Michael Ray Dillier's question, "What happened to this world?" The answer is very obvious. His liberal buddies are in control.
