Commuters will encounter wet roads on Thursday morning. But the showers have so far done little to reverse the drought conditions in the metro-east.
According to the National Weather Service, as of Thursday morning, only sprinkles have hit the ground locally. But that could change this afternoon. A wave of thunderstorms could move into the area after 3 p.m.
The high temperature Thursday is expected to reach 55 degrees. On Friday the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of 66 degrees. The next chance of precipitation comes this weekend when there is a 50 percent chance of rain Friday and a 70 percent chance of rain turning to snow Sunday.
