The metro-east is in for a roller coaster ride of changing weather this weekend.
On Friday the high temperature will reach 67 degrees, about 25 degrees higher than the average high temperature for January in the area. Overnight thunderstorms have moved out and skies will be clear.
The temperature will drop rapidly Saturday, starting at 54 degrees but sinking into the 20s by the evening hours. There is a 50 percent chance of rain during the afternoon, then a 90 percent chance of snow and sleet Saturday night into Sunday morning.
On Sunday there is a chance of snow flurries with a high temperature of only 31 degrees and a low of 16.
