A metro-east native has been nominated for an Oscar.
Reginald Hudlin, 51, of Centreville and an Assumption High School graduate, is a producer of the movie "Django Unchained" which has been nominated in the best picture category.
Hudlin has previously been recognized for his work as a writer and director. He directed movies including "House Party," "Boomerang," "The Great White Hype," "The Ladies Man" and "Serving Sara."
He wrote the Black Panther comic book from 2005-08 for Marvel Comics. During the same period he was president of the Black Entertainment Television network.
