His identify is yet unknown, said Lt. Dave Wasmuth of the Illinois State Police. An autopsy is being conducted today, which police hope will lead to a positive identification and a cause of death.

An employee of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources was patrolling the park and came across the body on the west end of the lake.

Wasmuth said there was some trauma to the body, but he declined to be specific.

State Police are handling the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at 346-3990.
