O'Fallon firefighters were called to the scene of a residential fire in the 2700 block of Cascade Lake Drive in Shiloh on Friday afternoon.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
O'Fallon Fire Chief Brent Saunders said firefighters were called to the scene around 2:30 p.m. The fire, which started in the garage, was extinguished in about 20 minutes, Saunders said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Saunders said the home sustained enough damage to displace the family that lives there.
The O'Fallon Fire Department was assisted by the Fairview Heights and Lebanon fire departments.
