The letters to the editor page lost a prolific contributor -- Anne Smith.

Anne often wrote commentary about local events, recommending special activities and giving credit where credit was due. She often pointed out the many positive aspects Belleville had to offer especially to its senior population.

She and her daughter, Mag, had a friendly competition going as to who could have more letters published.

This letter still puts me behind by two.
