Some politicians will do anything for a vote as demonstrated by the Chicago Democrats and those down here who support the bill they introduced to make it legal for "illegal immigrants" to get a driver's license.
Webster defines illegal as "not according to, or authorized by law." My question is, if they're illegal, why are they here and why are we taxpayers paying for a program so they can get a driver's license? Aren't the other benefits we provide for the illegals enough?
According to Illinois Coalition for Immigration and Refugee Rights, there are 250,000 illegal immigrants who drive in Illinois. We are broke, don't they understand, and they want us to spend $800,000 dthe first year and $250,000 each year thereafter for this boneheaded law.
But wait. Are they going to take their driver's test in English or Spanish? If in Spanish because they can't read English, are we now going to spend millions more that we don't have to change all of our road signs to include Spanish?
These politicians are so eager to try to prove that they are doing something, they are willing to pass bad legislation.
Also, now that they're going to get their way with gay marriage, what's next? Take our guns?
