Brad Bickhaus of Keller Construction Inc. in Glen Carbon was re-elected president of the Southern Illinois Builders Association. Other elected officers are first vice president Rob Malone, of MMI Partnership in O'Fallon; second vice president Bill Tindall Jr., of Tindall Construction Inc. in Pontoon Beach; and secretary/treasurer Kent Richardson, of Subsurface Constructors Inc. in St. Louis. Elected three year associate director was Gerry Staley, of Paul Abt Flooring Inc. in O'Fallon. Elected three year affiliate director was Roger Osterhage, of Nu Way Concrete Forms Inc. in St. Louis. The trade association represents more than 500 commercial and industrial building, highway and utility construction contractors throughout Southern Illinois.

Attorneys from HeplerBroom LLC were recently recognized as 2013 Illinois Super Lawyers and Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars published in Super Lawyers magazine. Excel Brewery in Breese added Rod Burguiere as the new assistant brewmaster. The brewery opened last year at Excel Bottling Co., which was founded in 1936. The company bottles more than 10 flavors of old-fashioned sodas, including Ski. Each soda flavor is manufactured using pure cane sugar.
