Center for Racial Harmony gets Martin Luther King award

The Center for Racial Harmony of the metro-east received the Distinguished Social Action Award Saturday night from the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. State Celebration Commission of Missouri.

The event was held at the Harris-Stowe University auditorium. The awards this year recognized either individuals or organizations whose work centers on uplifting women and recognizing their contributions to society.

Racial Harmony was recognized for its Phenomenal Women of St. Metropolitan Louis initiative.

Racial Harmony is a third party neutral organization dedicated to promoting understanding, cooperation and communication among all races and ethnic groups.
