The East St. Louis community is trying to raise $5,000 by Wednesday to help the family of Ebony Jackson-Shelton pay funeral and other related costs. Anyone wanting to make a donation can learn how at www.angelhelper.net or by calling Linda Lawson at 698-7759.
A visitation will be held for Jackson-Shelton at 10 a.m. Saturday at Power of Change Church, located at 610 Range Lane in Cahokia. The funeral will follow at noon at the church.
Anyone with information regarding the person who murdered Jackson-Shelton and put her in the trunk of her car, is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS (This is an anonymous tip line and officials have put up $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.)
The Pine Lawn Police Department in St. Louis, Mo., collected $8,000 to help police catch the killer. The money was given to CrimeStoppers, so there is a total of $9,000 thus far. Pine Lawn Police Chief Rickey Collins said donations were still coming in to the Police Department.
