In response to the rabid vitriol against President Obama, I would like to point out what a great job he has done. He inherited a financial crisis brought on by Republican policies of deregulation as well as two wars that the outgoing administration got us bogged down in, one of which was unnecessary.

Despite GOP obstructionism, President Obama was able to save the economy from falling into a depression and get it turned around. The economy is improving, albeit slowly. He was able to successfully bring both wars to an end.

I support our president and his policies 100 percent. I am proud to be an American and a Democrat. When asked what to do about the uninsured, no Democrat ever said, "Let them die."

We believe in working together to solve our problems, not taking oaths to never compromise. We believe in tolerance, compassion, fairness, justice, mercy, openness and respect for all. We believe in building bridges, not walls. We believe in serving all Americans, not just 1 percent.

I don't hate the rich. Many of them have earned their wealth honestly, but many are more akin to Bernie Madoff than Horatio Alger.

I am looking forward to the next four years.
