An East St. Louis man was sentenced to 18 months in prison Friday for unlawful possession a firearm.
Charles L. Thomas, 25, was sentenced in federal court. During a traffic stop on Feb. 21, 2012, East St. Louis Police found a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol that contained eight live rounds of ammunition in a car Thomas was driving.
Thomas has also been ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and serve two years of supervised release following his imprisonment.
