St. Clair Township leaders divide rather than unite

Published: January 19, 2013

To the people in the north end of Swansea who call themselves Christian and were e-mailed to vote for Tim Buchanan and Mark Burk in the last St. Clair Township election: Have they learned who these people are? Have they attended a St. Clair Township meeting to see the attitudes that are portrayed by these dictators?

Many years ago, I was the head of the streets of Swansea for 20 years. During that time, Swansea and St. Clair Township worked together as one. But now, the morale of the township employees is at an all-time low. People have lost their jobs.

These so-called leaders have not only destroyed the morale of the mployees, but they have not followed through with campaign promises. These promises included: oil and chipping the roads, grading the roads, cutting grass and sweeping the streets often. I feel that these things are not getting done because they laid off at least four employees. They did this to show a budget surplus. However, it was my understanding that they already had the budget made up with those laid off employees' salaries included.

I implore people who voted for Buchanan and Burke to attend a township meeting. Watch the way questions go unanswered and topics get skirted. They haven't done anything but destroy a good working relationship with surrounding communities. They do not care for those people who live and work in the township.

This next election, vote these people out and get people who care about the community.
