Published: January 22, 2013

The Swansea Village Board is expected to vote on new contracts with its two police unions at Tuesday night's meeting.

Trustees will discuss the new contract with the police patrol officers and investigators union and the police sergeants union during a personnel committee meeting held prior to the board meeting.

No specific details about either contract was released. However, the contract is for a four-year period from May 1, 2012 to May 1, 2016. Both unions have been working without a contract since the current contract expired April 30, 2012.

Trustees are also slated to discuss rezoning of property at 4905 to 4945 Stone Falls Center Drive in O'Fallon from highway business to planned business district. The application for rezoning was filed by Ron Noble of Belleville. Noble would like the property replatted to individual lots as well.

The board will also discuss two new businesses expected to open in Swansea -- Dave's Detail Shop to be located at 1307 N. Illinois St. and Paragon Certified Restoration to be located at 2000 N. Illinois St.

Swansea Village Board meets immediately following their committee meetings, which begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, at the Swansea Government Center on North Illinois Street.
