Great game day in Highland

Congratulations to Highland High School's Athletic Director Steve Lanxon and his staff and to the Highland Optimist Club.

Jan. 5 was the Highland Basketball Shootout. My brother, Russell Krause, cameraman Lawrence Duncan, five R.J. Krause All-Stars, and I had a great time.

In game four my East St. Louis Flyers defeated past Wisconsin state champion James Madison Memorial High School with a 19-point victory, 80 to 61. Flyer's Deshawn Munson was the game's most valuable player.

I was at the game for East St. Louis' cable television and the East St. Louis Monitor.

I would like these games to be called something more positive than a "shootout;" to me this is a very negative word. Years ago the NBA Washington Bullets changed its name to the Washington Wizards.

Also, the NFL could change the name of an overtime game to "sudden victory" instead of "sudden death."
