In regard to U.S. Rep. Bill Enyart's Southern Illinois Task Force. I find it difficult to believe that the voters need their values and Second Amendment rights protected. Illinois still has an excellent FOID card program in place. Addressing barriers to mental health care and prosecuting offenders who lie on background checks is applaudable.

Our public schools should have a zero tolerance approach to bullying before it may transform itself into gun violence. If doomsday preppers need semi-automatic rifles and multi-round clips, they can substantiate their need. Everyone has a right to be heard.

Contrary to popular opinion, guns are not the only form for self-defense. Our Springfield representatives can best serve law-abiding citizens in Illinois by passing a concealed gun carrying proposal ASAP.
