WASHINGTON PARK — An unidentified man was gunned down in the 5400 block of Avon about 8 p.m. Monday.
Washington Park Police Chief David Clark confirmed that the victim died at the scene. He said police have no suspects or a motive for the shooting at 5402 Avon.
"Multiple gunshots were fired and the victim was struck," Clark said.
Clark said Illinois State Police had been called and would likely be taking over the investigation.
The unidentified male is a Washington Park resident and the village's first homicide in 2013.
