James J. Jr. and Kay L. Harter of Smithon celebrated their 50th anniversary on November 18, 2012 with mass of thanksgiving celebrated by Father Stanley Konieczny at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Smithton, followed by a brunch at Our Lady of Snows and family trip to Disney World and Universal Studios over Thanksgiving Week.

James J. and the former Kay L. Schwarz were married on November 22, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Belleville, IL by Monsignor Joseph Orlet.

James is a semi retired Vice President at FGM Architects in O’Fallon, IL as an architect.

Kay is a retired bookkeeper from Arthur A. Smith M.D. and Rosel H. Calong M.D., O’Fallon, IL.

They have 3 children: James J. (Susan D.) Harter III, Cranston of Rhode Island, Jeffery J. (Jill M.) Harter of Affton, MO., Jennifer K. (Dr. Alex J.) Schillinger, O’Fallon, IL.

They have 6 grandchildren: Brienne E. Harter, Samantha M. Harter, Alexis G. Schillinger, Madelyn G. Schillinger and twins Ryan J. Schillinger & Ethan J. Schillinger.
