Local Lutheran schools to welcome visitors

Published: February 1, 2013

Six Lutheran metro-east Lutheran schools will participate in an open house event Feb. 10.

Participating schools include Holy Cross Lutheran and Good Shepherd Lutheran in Collinsville, Trinity Lutheran and Metro East Lutheran High School in Edwardsville, and Zion Lutheran schools in Belleville and Bethalto.

"Our mission is to touch the lives of children and families through an academically-focused, faith-based elementary school experience and make a positive difference in their future," Deb Schmich, Director of the Lutheran Elementary School Association, said of what the schools hope to impress upon the families of prospective students.

During the open houses, families considering sending their kids to Lutheran schools can meet with principals, tour classrooms and find out about need-based scholarship opportunities.

Most schools will host visitors from 1-3 p.m., but times may vary. Contact your local Lutheran school for details.
