Three businesses in Belleville sold alcohol to a minor during an alcohol compliance check Thursday conducted by the Belleville Police Department.

Capt. Don Sax said the employees at the following businesses sold alcohol to a minor:

* Belleville Quick Shop, 7311 Old St. Louis Rd.;

* Shenanigan's, 6401 West Main St.; and

* Circle K 2709, West Main St.

Eight other businesses checked by the police department did not sell alcohol to a minor.
