Hypocrisy on display

Published: February 3, 2013

Hypocrisy is often impossible to self-identify. A recent Catholic contributer is a case in point.

I'm amazed by those who are offended by the harsh criticism of our president (a First Amendment right, by the way), but were mute when President Bush was daily lambasted by the same liberal writers. Her comments about being pro-choice and pro-life were confusing at best. She feels that babies should be born out of love only. Thus she throws almost all of the reasoning behind most abortions into the class of being suitable killings.

I'm sure she excuses abortions as the result of rape and incest, as well as to save the life of the mother. While these situations are packed with emotion, this letter writer fails to admit to herself the probable cause behind the majority of abortions: inconvenience. I'm talking about the inconvenience of raising a child in these days when no father is present, and neither potential parent wants to accept responsibilities for their actions.

Groups such as Planned Parenthood encourage promiscuity and then follow up with a fresh dose of abortion services. They receive taxpayer funding throughout the process, despite their naysaying.

So this letter writer needs to pick her side and quit riding the fence. She is either for saving children, or discarding them as refuse to be thrown away. If she regards herself as a Christian, then she needs to be concerned with what Christ would do...
