Downtown restaurant opens doors for lunchtime

A relatively new restaurant and bar in downtown Belleville is serving the lunchtime crowd, beginning today.

Tavern On Main at 301 E. Main St. opened last fall and is unveiling its lunch menu, which includes appetizers such as barbecue shrimp and wings. You will also find salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers, pasta and pizza.

A Collinsville bridal store is open again after a fire forced the store at 1600 Vandalia St. to close. Champagne & Lace Bridal caught fire in August and the proprietors relocated to 102 W. Main St. in town. As of last Friday, the business has moved back to the original and newly renovated store. The number is 345-5223.

A new spa opened in downtown Edwardsville. MassageLuXe is located in the Park Place Development at 204 S. Buchanan St. and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Call 307-0093 to make an appointment.

A Maryville medical spa has relocated. You can now find Ooh La La Wellness Center at 110 Cottonwood Road in Glen Carbon. You can reach the skin care center at 288-9117.

A new day care center is open in Washington Park. You can find First Lady Child Development Center & After School Program inside a new community center at 5503 Park Drive, located behind a church, House of Prayers. The child care center is now enrolling children ages six weeks to 12 years and is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 274-3856 for more information.

One of the bays at a Belleville car wash is undergoing renovation. West End Wash, at 2712 Frank Scott Parkway, is in the process of adding new state-of-the-art equipment to its automatic wash bay. The other three bays are self-service and remain open. The new auto wash bay is expected to be ready in about two weeks.

The accounting firm Kerber Eck & Braeckel LLP, which has an office in Swansea, merged with St. Louis-based Pritchard Osborne LLC. Eck & Braeckel LLP, which is known as KEB, was founded in 1931 in Springfield. Today, the firm has 25 partners and more than 200 professionals with offices at 4111 N Illinois St. in Swansea and others in Springfield, Litchfield, Carbondale, Jacksonville, St. Louis, Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Milwaukee. And finally, for the fourth year in a row, Forbes Magazine recognized Central Bancompany as one of America's Best Banks in its annual review of the nation's 100 largest financial institutions.
