The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

BELLEVILLE POLICE

THURSDAY, JAN. 31

5:16 a.m. Retail theft -- Walmart, 2601 Green Mount Commons. Loss prevention reported on Jan. 14 between 8 and 8:45 a.m., three suspects were observed taking merchandise from the store without paying for it.

6:47 p.m. Obstructing indentification -- 9800 block of Olympia Street. Officers responded to the residence for a report of a female that was wanted by our department for fleeing and eluding the previous day. On arrival officers made contact with the suspect, Danielle R. Williams, 28, who identified herself but gave officers a false name and date of birth. Williams was arrested for the previous traffic citations including fleeing and for obstructing identification. Williams was tranported and held for a warrant out of St. Louis.

10:59 p.m. Residential burglary, aggravated assault, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon -- First block of North 31st Street. The victim reported he returned home and found the rear door to his residence ajar. The victim went inside and found no one inside. As he exited the house he was confronted by four people, one of them was carrying a handgun. The victim was ordered to the ground but ran away instead. The victim looked back and observed the four people but lost sight of them. Officers responding to the area located a suspicious vehicle leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop. Two of the occupants fled on foot. One of the two returned to the vehicle and the other was apprehended after a foot pursuit. Officers did locate evidence that was used. All occupants of the vehicle were arrested, transported and held pending further investigation.

FRIDAY, FEB. 1

3:04 p.m. Attempted armed robbery -- Circle K, 3801 North Belt West. An employee reported that while working on paperwork at the counter, a person wearing a cap and a scarf covering her face approached the counter with a handgun. The person ordered the employee to open a safe but he could not open it. She ordered the victim a second time and again he advised it could not be opened. The suspect fled the area on foot.

12:15 p.m. Unattended child -- Arabelle at Floradora. Two females located a small child walking down Arabelle. As officers were attempting to locate a residence where the child lived they came into contact with the child's relative who was outside looking for the child. DCFS was notified of the incident.

12:19 p.m. Retail theft -- Walmart, 2601 Green Mount Commons. Melisa E. Hamilton, 33, and Joyce A. Salger, 21, were arrested after concealing merchanidse and leaving the store without paying for the items. Both subjects were transported and released with a notice to appear.

12:44 p.m. Theft -- 200 block of Lebanon Avenue. The property owner reported sometime in the last week unknown person(s) removed the central air unit from the property.

6:43 p.m. Theft -- 2000 block of Celebration Park Circle. The victim reported several packages were delivered to her residence while she was gone. The packages were delivered by UPS, USPC and FEDEX. None of the packages was there when she returned.

6:45 p.m. Criminal damage to property -- 300 block of North Seventh Street. The victim reported rocks were thrown through a window at her residence. The victim observed several juveniles running from the area after the damage occurred.

9:28 p.m. Armed robbery -- First block of East McKinley. Four victims were walking in the first block of East McKinley when a tan four-door vehicle pulled up. A male offered to sell them some marijuana. He left the area and returned a short time later. The male got out of the vehicle and walked up to the victims. The male was in possession of a handgun and took U.S. currency and property from the victims. The victims ran from the scene and contacted the police. Pending further investigation.

10:34 p.m. Battery -- 700 block of State Street. The victim reported the suspect forced her out of his vehicle and battered her.

SATURDAY, FEB. 2

12:45 a.m. Driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident -- 700 block of Union. An officer discovered a stop sign had been hit at Eighth and West Monroe. The vehicle was located in the 700 block of Union. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested, transported and held pending possible felony driving under the influence charges.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES

FRIDAY, FEB. 1

Delawrence C. Borders, 22, of 3109 Virginia Place, East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, subsequent on Jan. 23 by East St. Louis police. Borders allegedly carried on his person a .38-caliber revolver at a time when he was not on his own land, or in his own abode, or fixed place of business, uncased, loaded and immediately accessible. Defendant had been previously convicted of residential burglary on Feb. 28, 2008.

Lecourtney A. Luckett, 32, of 2027 Violet, Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of escape on Jan. 31 by East St. Louis police. Luckett allegedly having been charged with the offense of home invasion, intentionally escaped from the East St. Louis City Jail, located at 301 River Park Drive, East St. Louis, a penal institution.

Floyd J. Schmitt, 55, of 11744 Luettinger Road, Trenton, arrested on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence and driving on revoked license on Feb. 1 by St. Clair County sheriff. Schmitt allegedly drove a silver 2000 Chevrolet Silverado on Summerfield South Road in Mascoutah, while the defendant was under the influence of alcohol and during a period in which the defendant's driving privileges were revoked.

Kenneth C. Walton IV, 20, of 1031 N. 71st St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of obstructing justice on Jan. 30 by Sauget police. Walton allegedly with the intent to obstruct the prosecution of Rufus Thomas, knowingly furnished false information to John Parisi, a peace officer, as to the identification of two alleged suspects that he claimed to be involved in the robbery of the Ira Grove Church in East St. Louis on Jan. 27.

Joshua M. Cook, 34, of 2213 Vandalia, Apt. B, Collinsville, arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery, subsequent on Jan. 29 by Caseyville police. Cook allegedly strangled Mariah Horton, a family/household member, intentionally impeded the normal breathing and circulation of blood of Mariah Horton by choking her with his hands; hit her in the face. Defendant had previously been convicted of domestic battery on Jan. 17, 2012.

FRIDAY, FEB. 1

Justin D. Goins, 18, of Fairview Heights, warrant arrest by O'Fallon police.

Lee Harris IV, 31, of Collinsville, arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance by St. Clair County sheriff.

Lewis J. Johnson Jr., 43, of East St. Louis, multiple warrant arrest by St. Clair County sheriff.

Anthony L. White, 37, of Centreville, warrant arrest by St. Clair County sheriff.

Donovan D. Smith, 18, of Washington Park, arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and warrant arrest by Belleville police.

Danielle L. Moore, 23, of East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis by St. Clair County sheriff.

Donald E. Collier, 40, of East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of operating unisured motor vehicle, suspended or revoked driver's license by St. Clair County sheriff.

Jermon L. Chillers, 22, of Madison, multiple warrant arrest by Fairview Heights police.

William C. Kernan, 35, of Tilden, arrested on suspicion of burglary by Marissa police.

Codey D. Howard, 18, of East St. Louis, warrant arrest by St. Clair County sheriff.

MADISON COUNTY FELONIES

MONDAY, FEB. 4

Devin L. Bailey, 19, of 222 Carver St., Madison, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to distribute between 10 and 30 grams. Bailey allegedly had about 30 grams of cannabis on his person when searched by a Madison County sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop on Friday.

Cassandra B. Hart, 22, of 707 N. Morrison Ave., Collinsville, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance in a penal institution. Hart was booked into the Madison County Jail Saturday on a warrant and allegedly had a container hidden on her person, which was found to contain several capsules of heroin.

MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF

SATURDAY, FEB. 2

Cheryl L. Hutchinson, 54, and John L. Phillips, 58, both of 3241 W. Chain of Rocks Road in Granite City, were arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). While investigating a domestic battery at the Sun Motel in Granite City, deputies located and seized articles of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine, which were allegedly linked to Hutchinson and Phillips.
