Residents will have the chance Wednesday night to comment on a controversial Belleville ordinance related to occupancy permits.
The issue is on the agenda of the Public Health & Housing Committee. The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of Belleville City Hall, 101 S. Illinois St.
The committee usually meets at 6 p.m. but the meeting time was changed.
The city currently requires occupancy permits, but the ordinance would clarify that only residents identified on the permit -- by name, relationship and birthday -- are allowed to live in the respective dwelling.
