Argument with pregnant wife results in felony charge for man

— A 44-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a pregnant person, a Class 3 felony, after allegedly getting into an argument with his wife, shoving her onto a couch and threatening to kick the woman in the stomach.

The victim was three months pregnant at the time, according to a statement issued Thursday by the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department.

Johnny D. Henson, Jr., of 4 Maple Drive, was arrested soon after sheriff's deputies were called to the couple's house about 12:30 a.m. Monday, according to the release.

Henson remains at the St. Clair County Jail, in Belleville, in lieu of posting bond set for $25,000, according to the release.

The victim did not show any visible injuries and declined medical care. Two roommates witnessed the offense, according to the release.
