Give credit for hard work

Published: February 7, 2013

I'm writing in regard to the letter on Saturday by Sandy Boshkoff. First, I must say she stretched the logic a bit far. Anyone who wants to eat out of garbage cans is going a bit too far.

When will everyone realize that both parties are to blame for our economy? I do think it is time to get off the kick about former President Bush. He has been out of office going on five years. It is now time to look at what has transpired since President Obama took office.

Now this is my opinion. I raised four children on my own. Guess I could have chosen to eat garbage, but instead I worked two jobs and also gave my children great care. My children did not have the finer things in life but they had what was needed to become hard-working citizens.

So my beef is, some people think people under certain circumstances should pay for the lazy who do not want to work. I'm all for helping those who are handicapped. I know many people think that children like mine, who have worked hard in life and become well off, do not deserve what they have worked hard for and want to tax them more so the freeloaders can sit at home and live off the working people.
