CAMPBELL HILL — Ali Ringering scored 18 points and the Red Bud Musketeers won their first regional title since 1995 with a 40-27 decision over the Pinkneyville Panthers on Thursday in championship game of the Class 2A Trico Regional.
The Musketeers also got eight points from Jessica Otten.
The Panthers were paced by Dani Schoenbacher with eight points.
The Musketeers will play the winner of the Anna-Jonesboro Regional, either Vienna or Carterville, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals of the Class 2A Dupo Sectional.
Okawville 37, Christ Our Rock 26
Janel Lake pumped in 16 points to lead the Okawville Rockets past the Christ Our Rock Silver Stallions from Centralia in the championship game of the Class 1A Okawville Regional.
The Rockets (21-8) advance to play Hardin Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals of the Class 1A Lebanon Sectional.
Hardin Calhoun beat Bunker Hill 49-43 in the championship game of the Bunker Hill Regional.
Amanda Geiger and Amara Lyons each had 12 points for the Silver Stallions, who ended their season with a 20-7 record.
Nashville 51, Sesser-Valier 27
The Nashville Hornettes cruised to the championship of the Class 2A Zeigler-Royalton Regional.
The Hornettes (28-2) will play the Central Cougars (29-2) at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals of the Class 2A Dupo Sectional.
The game will be a rematch of last year's sectional finale that Central won on its way to placing second in the state.
