Saturday's game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins at TD Garden has been postponed due to the blizzard that has crippled the New England area. A makeup date has yet to be announced. The start time had already been pushed back from 1 p.m. (ET) to 7 p.m.

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Adam Henrique and Bobby Butler each netted a power-play goal in the third period to lift the New Jersey Devils over the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-1, in the opener of a home-and-home set at Prudential Center. Stefan Matteau also lit the lamp, while Ilya Kovalchuk and Andy Greene added two assists apiece for the Devils, who have won four straight. Martin Brodeur stopped 24 shots. Brandon Sutter supplied the offense for Pittsburgh, which saw its five-game win streak come to an end. Marc-Andre Fleury made 25 saves in defeat.

Final Score: Philadelphia 4, Carolina 3 (OT)

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Danny Briere scored at the 1:47 mark of overtime to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. Nik Grossman sent a lead pass from his zone down the left wing and Briere took it into the Carolina zone. He cut to the front of the net and snapped a shot that hit off the left post, then went off the back of Cam Ward before trickling in. Brayden Schenn and Jakub Voracek posted a goal and an assist while Matt Read also scored for the Flyers, who went 3-0-1 on a four-game road trip. Ilya Bryzgalov gave up three goals on 33 shots in the win. Joe Corvo posted a goal and an assist and Jiri Tlusty and Jeff Skinner each lit the lamp for the Hurricanes, who had won three of four. Ward posted 28 stops.

Final Score: Winnipeg 1, Ottawa 0

Ottawa, ON (Sports Network) - Al Montoya stopped 33 shots to record his third career shutout and lead the Winnipeg Jets past the Ottawa Senators, 1-0, at Scotiabank Place. Alexei Ponikarovsky netted the game's lone goal for Winnipeg, which won for the second time in three games. Ben Bishop made 36 saves in a losing effort for the Senators, who have dropped two straight and four of their last five overall.

Final Score: Detroit 2, Edmonton 1

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Niklas Kronwall scored the winner in the third period to help the Detroit Red Wings to a 2-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Pavel Datsyuk posted a goal and an assist while Jimmy Howard made 23 saves for the Red Wings, who have won their past two and four of six. Nikolai Khabibulin made 28 stops and Justin Schultz had the lone goal of the game for the Oilers, who have dropped their past five games.

Final Score: Phoenix 1, San Jose 0 (SO)

San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Mikkel Boedker scored the winner in the shootout as the Phoenix Coyotes clipped the San Jose Sharks, 1-0, on Saturday. After Michal Handzus was stopped by Mike Smith, Boedker skated in on net and faked to the backhand before lifting it over a sprawled-out Antti Niemi. Smith then kept out James Sheppard's wrister before Radim Vrbata sealed the win by beating Niemi with the same fake and shot as Boedker. Smith made 33 saves to post his second shutout of the season and 21st of his career for the Coyotes, who have won three of their last four games. Niemi made 21 stops for his 20th career shutout and first of the season for the Sharks, who have dropped four straight after opening the season with seven straight wins.
