CAHOKIA WOODHENGE: Dr. Michael Friedlander will discuss "The Cahokia Woodhenge" as part of this month's meeting of the St. Louis Astronomical Society. During excavations west of Monks Mound near Collinsville in the early 1960s, Warren Wittry discovered traces of wooden posts that had been set out around five large circles. Friedlander, a physics professor at Washington University, will discuss Woodhenge, compare it to Stonehenge and discuss the astronomical knowledge of the area's ancient peoples. The program is at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Room 162 of McDonnell Hall on the Washington University campus. It is free and open to the public.
ABOUT TELESCOPES: The Southwestern Illinois College Astronomy Club will offer a program on space telescopes at 7 p.m. Feb. 21, in Room 1411 of the Main Complex.

"LI'L ABNER" AUDITIONS: Curtain's Up Theater Company will conduct auditions for "Li'l Abner" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Room 2012, Southern Illinois Uuniversity Edwardsville, Katherine Dunham Hall, Edwardsville. BABY-SITTING 101: This class, taught by an instructor from St. Louis Children's Hospital, is an introduction to the basics of baby-sitting.
