Troy man charged after woman shoots him during Highland home invasion

A Troy man is facing a home invasion charge after allegedly forcing his way into an apartment in Highland Sunday and getting into an altercation with two sisters inside the residence in the 2600 block of Eagle Way.

Joshua R. Jewell, 33, was charged Wednesday by Madison County State's Attorney's Office.

Jewell was shot by one of the sisters and remains hospitalized at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. His bail was set by Judge Richard Tognarelli at $500,000.

According to a news release from the Highland Police Department, there are no plans to arrest Jewell until his medical condition improves.
