BELLEVILLE — The following report appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

Tuesday

11:24 TRAFFIC ACCIDENT- FELONY D.U.I. - Illinois Route 161 at W. Pheasant Wood. Officers responded to the area for a report of a vehicle striking a light pole. The driver/suspect, a 34-year-old male, fled the scene in another vehicle prior to officers' arrival. Officers located the vehicle, in which the suspect was a passenger, and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect appeared to be intoxicated and refused field sobriety tests. The suspect was arrested, transported to headquarters and held pending possible felony charges.
