Three St. Louis men have been charged in Madison County in connection with a residential burglary and robbery in Granite City Sunday while the resident was home.
Abdulla G. Aldhahi, 21, Mario Martinez, 22, and Marco A. Fabio-Chavez, 23, are accused of breaking into a home at 1067 Wanda St. just before 4 a.m., according to the Madison County Sheriff's Office. The resident of the home told police that one of the men entered her home and ordered her not to get up from where she was sitting in a chair in her living room. The man continued through the house, went into the attached garage and took an electric saw. He left through the garage and did not harm the resident.
During the investigation deputies located car tire impressions and three sets of shoe prints in the snow in the victim's yard. They then located matching shoe impressions in the yard of a home about two blocks away and talked to the residents of the home where they learned more about possible suspects in the residential burglary and robbery.
Aldhahi is in custody at the Madison County Jail. Fabio-Chavez and Martinez are not yet in custody.
Bail was set at $100,000 for each defendant.
