Belleville blotter: Man damages girlfriend's furniture, wall, cellphone

— The following report appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

2:17 a.m. DOMESTIC BATTERY/CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY - 1000 block of Royal Heights Rd. Officers responded to the residence for a battery report. Officers spoke with the victim, 29. She advised her boyfriend/suspect, 35, damaged furniture and a wall in the residence after an argument. He left but returned. The disturbance became physical. The suspect walked outside In the presence of officers and damaged the victim's phone by throwing it down onto the street. He was arrested and placed in the patrol unit. The suspect began kicking and slamming his head against the back window. He later complained of chest pains and was transported to an area hospital. Upon release he was transported to headquarters and held pending further investigation.
