Summary: Gibault has beaten Okawville and New Athens, while Okawville has beaten New Athens twice. Don't sleep on New Athens, which won its first Cahokia Conference title since 1979 under coach Marc Derwort.

Class 1A Carrollton Regional

Favorite: Madison

Could Surprise: Carrollton; and it's doubtful anyone here can beat one of the top two seeds

Summary: Madison got separated from 1A powers Gibault and Okawville in regional play this season, but likely won't find things easy in a hostile setting. Carrollton lost to Woodlawn in the 1A state championship game and is notoriously tough at home. Could be an entertaining regional final on Friday night.
