The driver of a pick-up truck is hospitalized in serious condition after he drove underneath a tanker truck.
According to police reports, a semi truck with a tanker trailer was backing into a driveway at just after 11 p.m. Monday in the 10,000 block of Highway 50 in Lebanon when the accident happened.
The highway was closed for about two hours while rescue crews worked to get the driver out of the pick-up which was wedged beneath the tank, crushing the driver's side of the cab. A passenger in the pick-up had minor injuries while the driver of the semi was unharmed.
The driver of another vehicle swerved to avoid the truck, ran over some mailboxes, then fled the scene.
The highway has been reopened and is flowing normally for the morning commute.
